Meal Application

Did you know completing a Meal Application provides…

  • Healthy and Nutritious Meals
  • Funding for MORE Classroom Resources
  • MORE Before and Afterschool Programs
  • MORE Fee Waivers for College Applications and Exams
  • MORE Health and Wellness Services

The More Than a Meal campaign is LAUSD’s district-wide campaign to promote the completion and submission of LAUSD Meal Applications.  The meal application helps the District to determine student eligibility for free and reduce-price meals and also helps to identify its high-need, low-income students.

This year’s collection is critical because it will provide the District with important income verification information that will be used to identify students who quality for supplemental resources under Title I and the State’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) program.  This is how LAUSD receives additional money to support the education of all students at school sites.

Every Application Counts!

Applications are mailed to most student homes in early July.  We need one application per household with the information  of ALL children the household enrolls into LAUSD schools. Completed applications should be submitted as quickly as possible via mail or to school sites to ensure student information counts toward state funding.

If the Meal Application has been misplaced, school sites have additional applications available for pick-up. Parents can also complete the meal application online at: https://www.applyforlunch.com/Home/PickDistrict

For questions regarding the completion and submission of the Meal Application, please go to the Meal App/Household Income Form (HIF), or contact the Food Services Division at (213) 241-3185.
